How many UPSSSC JE vacancies are there in 2026?

The 2026 UPSSSC JE vacancy count stands at 1,536 posts across two advertisements. Advertisement No. 24-Exam/2026 carries 1,156 Mechanical seats and No. 25-Exam/2026 carries 380 Electrical seats. Civil is not part of these two notifications.

The two lists are separate pools. A candidate who qualifies for both streams submits two applications. Every applicant needs a PET-2025 scorecard, and candidates with a zero or negative PET-2025 score are not shortlisted.

Department-wise UPSSSC JE Mechanical vacancy 2026

Irrigation and Water Resources holds the largest Mechanical share with 458 seats, followed by UPSRTC with 398 and the Public Works Department with 264. Eight posts across six departments make up the 1,156 total.

Two rows carry the Special Selection tag, the Ground Water Technical Assistant and the second Junior Engineer line under Irrigation, and they hold 157 seats between them. Qualification also varies by post. 

The UPSRTC Mechanic post asks for a three-year diploma in Automobile or Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering, with a Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence counted as preferential. The Instructor Machine post asks for Intermediate plus a three-year diploma in Mechanical Maintenance.

Junior Engineer posts sit at Pay Level 6, ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400. The UPSRTC Mechanic and Assistant Storekeeper posts are listed at ₹5,200 to ₹20,200.

Where the 380 UPSSSC JE electrical vacancies sit

The Public Works Department alone offers 231 of the 380 Electrical seats. UPSRTC follows with 56 Electrician posts, UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam with 46, and the Electrical Safety Directorate with 34. Seven universities add one seat each.

Qualification conditions differ by post. The Electrician (Vidyutkar) post needs an Electrical Supervisory Licence with the diploma. The Research Assistant post at RDTI Kanpur asks for two years of teaching experience, and the Electrical Safety Directorate requires the ability to read and write Hindi in Devanagari.

Category-wise UPSSSC JE seats under UR, SC, ST, OBC and EWS

Of the 1,536 seats, 616 are unreserved, 397 are SC, 370 are OBC, 131 are EWS and 22 are ST. Rows marked Special Selection carry no unreserved or EWS seats and list only SC, ST and OBC allocations.

Reservation benefits and age relaxation apply to Uttar Pradesh residents only. Candidates from other states are treated as General category.
