The commission exists under the U.P. Subordinate Services Selection Commission Act 2014, shortened to UPSSSC Act 2014. Early on, the focus was Group C and Group D appointments in state departments. Group B examinations were added to its work after that. The present Chairman is Shri Pravir Kumar.

UPSSSC Junior Engineer 2026 cycle

One detail gets overlooked. Junior Engineer (Mechanical) is only part of the Mechanical notice, because Mechanic and Assistant Storekeeper posts are listed in it too. The Electrical advertisement does something similar with Electrician and other technical posts. UPSSSC JE selection process 

In the Mechanical stream, PET 2025 scores shortlist the candidates. Those shortlisted appear in the Combined Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Main Examination. Other streams use the stage plan given in their own advertisement.

• PET 2025 marks decide who reaches the Mechanical main examination.
• One combined main examination covers several posts of that stream.
• The advertisement of the stream explains how a department is allotted.

Which UPSSSC JE stream suits which branch?

Branch decides the stream. Mechanical diploma holders follow the Mechanical notice. Electrical candidates follow the Electrical notice. Candidates from agricultural engineering have the Agriculture notice.
