SAIL MT Backlog Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
(1) For the Management Trainee position at Technical Wing, students must have a 4-year regular degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline with a minimum 65% aggregate from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
(2) The upper age limit for candidates is 33 Years for SC/ST candidates, 31 Years for OBC(NCL), and 45 Years for Departmental candidates. The age will be calculated as of 31 December 2023.

SAIL MT Backlog Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The selection for the Management Trainee (Technical) position will be done based on an online CBT Exam followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The students shortlisted from the Online CBT Exam will be called for the GD and Interview stage in the ratio of 1:3 category-wise, in order or merit.
The final selection will be made based on the combined score of the Online CBT exam, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview with the weightage 75:10:15 in that order.
SAIL MT Backlog Recruitment 2023: Exam Pattern
The selection for the Management Trainee (Technical) position is done via an online CBT Exam which has 75% weightage in the final merit list. The exam pattern of the Online CBT Exam is as follows:
(1) The online exam consists of 200 marks questions: 100 marks for the Technical Section and 100 Marks for the Non-Technical Section.
(2) The questions will be objective in nature i.e. each question will have 4 options out of which only one option is correct.
(3) A technical portion will have questions from relevant subjects of discipline. The time allotted for the technical portion is 40 minutes.
(4) Non Technical portion will have questions about Quantitative Aptitude, General Reasoning, General Awareness, and the English Language. Each section carries an equal weightage of 25 marks.
(5) The time allotted for the Non-Technical portion is 80 minutes.
(6) The minimum qualifying marks are set to 40% aggregates in the Technical Section as well as the Non-Technical section separately.
