SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) recruits candidates for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (OCT) through its annual recruitment exam. Recently, SAIL has announced the recruitment of 87 Operator cum Technicians as Boiler Operator and Trainee.

SAIL Operator cum Technician Job Profile
The key responsibilities of an Operator-cum-Technician in SAIL include:
(i). Operating and maintaining various machines and equipment in the steel plant.
(ii). Conducting regular checks on the machines and equipment to ensure their smooth functioning
(iii). Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks on the machines and equipment
(iv). Ensuring that the machines and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained
(v). Following safety procedures and guidelines while working in the plant
(vi). Providing assistance to senior technicians and engineers in various tasks related to plant operations and maintenance
(vii). Keeping track of production targets and working towards achieving them
(viii). Maintaining records and documentation related to plant operations and maintenance.
SAIL Operator cum Technician: Eligibility Criteria
(i). Age of the candidates must not exceed 28 years.
(ii). Candidates should have matriculation with 03 years (full time) Diploma in their respective field of engineering from Govt. recognized Institute with minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD/Departmental candidates).
SAIL Operator cum Technician: Selection Criteria
The selection of the candidates is based on the Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test.
SAIL Operator cum Technician: Exam Pattern
The examination pattern is as follows:
(a) NOTE: There is no information about the negative marking in CBT Exam as of now.
(b) The candidates who are qualified in the CBT will be shortlisted for skill test / trade test in order of merit, at the ratio of 1:3 for each post.
