After a long wait, RRB has finally released a notice regarding the recruitment of RRB JE vacancies this year in 2024. The notice released on 2 February 2024 by the Railway Recruitment Board, RRB will be releasing the detailed notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineer positions between July and September 2024.
Therefore it is expected that the RRB JE 2024 exam might be conducted by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. Therefore, students should start their preparation accordingly.
RRB JE 2024 Recruitment: Job Profile
A Junior Engineer recruited through the RRB JE exam will plan, execute, and supervise construction work as well as maintenance works of infrastructure as well as locomotives.
Junior Engineer handles various projects of Indian Railways like those related to railway tracks, bridges, signals, and other systems. A Junior Engineer also helps in inspection identifying errors and problems and implementing the solutions to ensure the safe and efficient operation.

The circular released by RRB on 5 Feb has confirmed the release of the RRB Junior Engineer notification. However, the total number of vacancies will be announced at a later stage. Therefore, students are advised to keep themselves updated with the official website of RRB.

(2) The online Exam of RRB JE 2024 is expected to be conducted in the initial months of 2025.

(1) The minimum qualifying marks for CBT-1 as well as CBT-2 are 40% for UR category candidates,30% for OBC and ST category candidates, and 25% for ST category candidates.
(2) The candidates will be shortlisted for CBT-2 based on marks scored in CBT-1 in the ratio of 1:15.
(3) There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the allotted marks for each question in CBT-1 as well as CBT-2 for every incorrect answer.
