JCECE LE 2023: Online Coaching Classes, Study Material, Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Selection Process

JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) lateral entry exam is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) for admission to lateral entry programs in various engineering colleges in Jharkhand. The exam is specifically designed for candidates who wish to take admission directly in the second year of undergraduate engineering programs.

JCECE (LE): Eligibility Criteria

(a). There is no age limit for this exam.

(b). Candidates must have passed Diploma examination with minimum 45% aggregate in relevant engineering branch.

Candidates must have passed B.Sc. with atleast 45% aggregate with Mathematics as a subject in 10+2

(c). Candidates with B.Sc. stream have to clear Engineering Drawing subject of 1st year along with Engineering mechanics.

JCECE (LE): Selection Criteria

The JCECEB will prepare a merit list based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance exam. Candidates who secure a rank within the cut off score will be considered for admission.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling where they will have to provide their choice of course and institution. The counselling process usually consists of document verification and seat allocation based on the availability of seats.

JCECE (LE): Exam Pattern

The exam duration is of 150 minutes.

(a). Exam paper will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) consisting of 50questions from Mathematics, 50 questions from Physics and 50 question from Chemistry section.

(b). Each question will carry 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer.

(c). Total marks will be 150 marks (50 marks for each section)

(d). Minimum 35 marks are needed to qualify the English Section.

JCECE (LE): How to Apply

Candidates who wish to apply for JCECE exam can fill the application form online by visiting the official website of JCECEB https://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in/ and submit it along with the required documents and application fee within the specified deadline.

Candidates who submit incomplete or incorrect application forms will be disqualified.

(a). Application fees for General /EWS/ General / BC-I / BC-II: Rs 650

(b). Application fees for SC/ST (From Jharkhand): Rs 325

The application fee could be paid online and in non-refundable in nature.
