The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has released a recruitment notification for 200 posts of Trade Apprentices in 9 Technical Trades in the case of the IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur.
The Apprenticeship Programme will run for one year, in accordance with the Apprenticeship Act 1961. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal from 28th Sept 2026 till 7th Oct 2026.

SAIL IISCO Trade Apprentice Selection Process
There was no separate written examination for the SAIL IISCO Apprentice Selection Process. The candidates will be short listed based on the marks obtained by them in ITI.
A selection will be made within the trade and category. In case two candidates have the same aggregate marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
Hence candidates should fill the appropriate NAPS application with correct details of their ITI marks and qualification.
SAIL IISCO Apprentice Training & Stipend
The finally selected candidates will get one year training period in IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur. The training period starts from the date of the creation of the apprenticeship contract and continues until the end of the prescribed training period of one year.
The amounts of stipend is from Rs. 9,600 to Rs. 10,560 per month depending on the provisions applicable.
Please note that employment is not guaranteed as a result of completing the apprenticeship with SAIL IISCO. The apprenticeship will be designed to give practical training and exposure in industrial training.
