Applicants for ONGC Recruitment 2026 should ensure that they meet the prescribed educational qualification and age limit prior to submitting an online application for the recruitment.

Candidates who have done an engineering degree with 60% marks from a recognized university are eligible for engineering disciplines. The candidates who are applying for the geology discipline should have qualified as Postgraduate Degree in geology or an equivalent M.Sc. / M.At least 60% marks in Tech in Petroleum Geoscience, Petroleum Geology or Geological Technology.

The upper age limit differs according to the discipline and category. The upper age limit is 26 years for engineering streams and 27 years for Geology stream for UR/EWS candidates. Age relaxation is given for OBC (NCL), SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen and departmental candidates as per ONGC recruitment rules.

How to apply for ONGC recruitment 2026?

The application process has been started on the official website of ONGC online. Eligible candidate should fill the registration form properly, giving all necessary details about his/her personal and educational profile.

The applicants are required to attach the following documents in the prescribed format: Educational certificates, photograph, signature and other supporting documents. Candidates who have been able to pay the application fee (if applicable) should submit the application form and must have the application form with a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

ONGC Selection Process 2026

The ONGC Recruitment 2026 selection process comprises three stages. The candidates will first appear for Computer Based Test (CBT). The Personal Interview will be conducted on 1:5 ratio of short listed candidates in accordance to their performance in CBT. The last phase is a Medical Fitness Examination.

Finally, a merit list will be drawn up based on 85% of the CBT score and 15% of the interview score. The minimum requirement and qualification for all the processes is mandatory to get the final offer of appointment.

ONGC Exam Pattern 2026

The Computer Based Test consists of test of technical knowledge and general aptitude. It is an examination of 85 objective type questions spanning the candidate’s main engineering/geology subject and General Awareness, Aptitude and English Language. The technical section is weighted most, so it’s most important to have subject knowledge to earn a high score.

ONGC Graduate Trainee Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be offered an attractive package of salary on the pay scale of ONGC at the E1 level. The basic pay is between ₹60,000 to ₹1,80,000 per month, and the annual increment is 3% on basic pay. Apart from the salary, employees will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or company accommodation, Cafeteria Allowance, medical facilities, gratuity, post retirement benefits, and other allowances as per ONGC rules.
