Assam Rifles Vacancy 2026

Assam Rifles Eligibility Criteria 2026
The criteria for eligibility are different for each position. Candidates should hold prescribed educational or technical qualifications from a recognized institution or board.
In some technical trades, candidates need to possess a 10th qualification and a trade or ITI certificate. There are other specialisation jobs such as Cipher, Draughtsman, Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist which have specific qualification criteria.
Specified Technical and Tradesman posts: 18-23 years. Some warrant officer posts: 18-25 years. Age relaxation is permissible in the case of eligible reserved categories, as per the rules.
Physical standards for Assam Rifles recruitment
Physical fitness is one of the critical parts of the recruitment process. The candidate needs to pass the following Physical Standard Test (PST) and then pass the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Male candidates should be less than 170 cm in height (165 cm for ST/STE). The minimum height for male candidates is 170 cm (ST/STE: 165 cm) for the General/all-India category. Candidates are advised to read the standards carefully before applying, as they may be different depending on the category.
The PET has a running component. The requirement is 5 km in 24 minutes for candidates from area other than Ladakh, 1.6 km in 7 minutes for Ladakh candidates.
