AAI has announced 95 apprentice vacancies across Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade Apprentice categories.
The apprenticeship opportunities are available for candidates belonging to the North Eastern Region, including Assam, Agartala, Imphal, Shillong, Dimapur, Tezu, Lengpui, and Hollongi (Itanagar).

Educational Qualification
The required qualification depends on the category of the apprenticeship.
- Graduate Apprentice
The candidate must have a 4-year full-time B.Tech. degree in the relevant branch of Engineering from any recognized college.
- Diploma Apprentice
The three-year course of Diploma in Engineering obtained from a recognized institute in the relevant branch is a mandatory requirement to apply.
- Trade Apprentice
The candidates should have a valid certificate of qualifying ITI/NCVT in the appropriate trade as mentioned in the official notification.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done with reference to the minimum eligibility conditions given in the notification.
Age Limit
The age of the applicants should be between 18 and 26 years on 28 July 2026. Relaxation in age will be given as per the Government of India Norms for the reserved category candidates.
AAI NER Apprentices Selection Process
Selection is a simple process without a written examination. The selection of candidates will be done on the following basis:
Shortlisting
Shortlisting of applications will be done on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying exam.
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the verification of educational certificates, ID proof, age proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other documents required.
Medical Examination
After passing out the verification of documents, candidates will have to undergo a medical fitness examination as per the standards laid down by the Airports Authority of India.
The final selection will be made based on the documents being verified and medical fitness.
